β-galactosidase expression activated by Chat-cre at embryonic day 15.5

 Chat-cre body image1
A) E15.5 image at 2X magnification. The posterior abdominal region here shows β-gal expression in the ventral horn of the spinal cord, specifically in the motor neurons.

B) The same E15.5 section in A, at 2X magnification, showing the caudal expression pattern. β-gal expression continues in the ventral horn along the length of the spinal cord.

C) A different E15.5 embryo, imaged at a 10X magnification. This image emphasizes β-gal expression along the spinal cord.

D) A different E15.5 section, imaged at 20X magnification. β-gal expression along the spinal cord, in the motor neurons, is strong.

E) A different E15.5 section, imaged at 10X magnification, and highlighting β-gal expression along the spinal cord.
The images in figures C-E all show β-gal expression specific to the motor neurons in the ventral horns along the spinal cord. This expression pattern was observed in all E15.5 littermates, genotyped positive for cre and lacZ.
